Mexico's main coffee production regions are Chiapas, Veracruz, and Oaxaca. It ranks around seventh among the world's coffee-exporting countries, with approximately 40% of its coffee consumed domestically and about 60% exported. Around 2.5 million people in Mexico are engaged in coffee cultivation. The Custepec coffee beans come from the Chiapas region, which is a major coffee-producing area in Mexico. Coffee production in this region is comprised of 17 family farms, all of which have very strict quality and stability requirements.
