Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee has long been popular among the Japanese, with a deep-rooted connection dating back to the last century. Blue Mountain coffee is known for its balanced flavour and full-bodied, considered by many connoisseurs to be the best coffee in the world. To this day, the Jamaican government has strict regulations regarding coffee cultivation, including the establishment of the CIB (Coffee Industry Board), AOC (Appellation d’Origine), and J.A.C.R.A (Jamaica Agricultural Commodities Regulatory Authority). All coffee produced in Jamaica is shipped and guaranteed by the CIB. There are several regions in Jamaica that produce Blue Mountain coffee, with No. 1 being the guarantee of the highest quality. Blue Mountain Style coffee is a blended coffee that imitates the flavour of Blue Mountain coffee, but has no relation to the traditional Jamaican Blue Mountain No. 1 coffee.
