Farm:Bambito Estate
Variety:Typica
Altitude:1,660 - 1,800 MASL
SCA Rating:84.75
n recent years, when people mention Panama coffee, they often think of the Geisha variety. However, other varieties from Panama are also outstanding, among which the Typica variety has also received an impressive SCA cupping score of 84.75, comparable to Geisha. The farm has been owned by the Rios family since 1900 and is now in its fifth generation. It is situated between national forest parks at an altitude of 1,660 to 1,800 meters, with two water sources. The east and west mountain ranges create a natural microclimate, protecting the coffee trees from summer or north winds, resulting in a very favorable growing environment. The farm features a greenhouse and a tasting room, allowing for close monitoring of seedling development and coffee quality. Additionally, the farm is committed to providing a good working environment and fostering an inclusive community. Each academic year, they provide breakfast for local students, as well as Christmas gifts and food.
